In partnership with our neighbours the contemporary art gallery, Osborne Studio Gallery, we will be offering a ‘painting of the month’ during 2018.
Lincoln Seligman, Large red turban, acrylic on canvas, 72x54inches
Lincoln Seligman’s exhibition 23rd May – 13th June celebrates his abiding love of India. His third solo exhibition at the gallery includes his favourite subjects, Maharajas at Speed and the Turban Series, he has become renowned for, as well as painting the visual fruits of his travels.
Majestic landscapes, sea and cityscapes still feature, with a new addition – trains and stations. His Night Train paintings capture brilliantly the grandeur, romance and scarcely controlled chaos of railway travel in India. He has devoted much of the time since his last exhibition to exploring the cornucopia of imagery the wider world has to offer and this year Lincoln’s collection of paintings is stronger than ever.
